Johnston County Arts Council administers North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts subgrants to local nonprofit organizations to support arts programming that culturally enriches Johnston County residents. Projects must occur within the program year (example shown: July 1, 2025 - June 15, 2026). Funding priority is given to qualified arts organizations, arts-in-education programs conducted by qualified artists, and other community organizations providing arts programs in the county. Applications are evaluated by a panel and awards are announced in late September.
